Open Almond Studios, LLC produces tabletop role-playing games, discipleship tools, and creative biblical resources. This page explains how our content may be used, shared, or adapted, and outlines the licenses governing our systems, publications, and media.

We want our games and resources to be played, shared, and enjoyed in homes, churches, and communities around the world. While the full license below covers the legal details, the heart of our approach is simple:
We invite you to build with us—so long as it’s done in good faith.
The Big Three
1. The Platinum Rule
Please treat our world, stories, and theological foundations with the same care and respect you would want shown toward your own beliefs. Creative interpretation is welcome; intentional distortion or mockery is not.
2. Personal & Ministry Use Is Encouraged
You are welcome to play our games, stream your sessions, create homebrew content, and use our materials in churches, small groups, or classrooms—so long as the use remains non-commercial and follows the guidelines below.
3. Commercial Use Requires Permission
If you wish to sell, license, or otherwise monetize content derived from our work, you’ll need a separate commercial agreement. We’re open to collaboration—just reach out.
Common Questions
Can I stream my game on Twitch or YouTube?
Yes. Streaming and recorded play are welcome, provided they follow the Platinum Rule.
Can I create custom characters, adventures, or house rules?
Yes! Homebrew content is encouraged, as long as it remains non-commercial and respectful of the setting.
Can I use this material in my church or youth group?
Absolutely. We welcome ministry use and allow limited printing for local, non-commercial settings.
Can I use your content to train AI or generate derivative AI material?
No. We do not permit our content to be used for AI training or generative purposes.
Can I sell my own expansion or product based on your work?

2. Studio Trademarks
The following are trademarks of Open Almond Studios, LLC:

These marks may not be used on products, merchandise, branding, or publications without express permission.
3. Covenant Gaming License (Personal, Table, & Media Use)
You MAY:
- Play our games
- Use content for personal study
- Use in home groups or Bible studies
- Stream, record, and publish gameplay sessions or clips
- Share brief excerpts with attribution
- Quote content in reviews or commentary
You MAY NOT:
- Upload PDFs publicly
- Redistribute books or digital products
- Use Open Almond Studios branding or logos
- Sell derivatives or expansions
- Claim official endorsement or compatibility
- Train AI models on our text or art
The Platinum Rule
All streaming and recorded content must honor the spirit and substance of the work. Creators are asked to treat its theological, historical, and narrative foundations with the same respect they would give to their own deeply held beliefs. Good-faith interpretation is welcomed; intentional distortion or misrepresentation is not.
Permission to stream or record play does not imply permission to reproduce or distribute written or artistic content.
4. Homebrew (Table-Only)
Homebrew modifications are permitted only for private use within a single play group (table).
Homebrew content may not:
- Be publicly distributed or published
- Be shared outside the play group
- Be released under Open Almond Studios game names
- Use Open Almond Studios trademarks or logos
- Imply endorsement or official compatibility
Public or commercial derivatives require express written permission.
5. Church & Ministry Use
Churches, missionaries, and Christian ministries may:
- Use our materials for teaching and discipleship
- Use games for youth groups and church campaigns
- Stream sessions for ministry outreach
- Print limited internal copies for a single local ministry location
Physical Church Library Use
Churches and ministries may host lawfully purchased physical books in libraries for checkout and return.
This does not permit:
- Scanning or digitizing content
- Redistributing digital files
- Removing copyright notices
Extended ministry rights are available upon request.
6. Fan Content Policy (Non-Commercial)
We welcome faithful, creative expansions inspired by our games.
You may create:
- Homebrew Covenant Roles
- Custom quests or adventures
- NPCs, factions, encounters
- Items, artifacts, or scenarios
- Actual-play content
- Fan art
- Youth lessons or sermon tie-ins
- Personal PDF handouts for your table
Fan Content Requirements
- Must include the following attribution: ”Unofficial fan content. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Open Almond Studios.”
- Must adhere to the Platinum Rule: All fan-created expansions, stories, or adaptations must honor the theological, narrative, and thematic foundations of the work. Creative interpretation is welcome, but content that intentionally distorts, mocks, or undermines the core meaning or moral framework of the setting is not permitted.
- Must not use protected branding: Official logos, trademarks, or trade dress belonging to Open Almond Studios may not be used.
- Must not reproduce protected content: Large portions of copyrighted text, artwork, or layout may not be reproduced verbatim, except where limited quotation is permitted under fair use (such as brief excerpts for reference, commentary, or mechanical compatibility).
- Must not be monetized: Fan content may not be sold, licensed, or otherwise monetized without explicit written permission.

7. System Reference Document (SRD) Licensing
Both Open Almond Studios SRDs are licensed identically:
- Warriors of the Covenant SRD
- Legacy of the Remnant SRD

You MAY:
- Share the SRDs with attribution
- Use them for personal or ministry play
- Reference them for teaching
- Quote small sections in reviews
- Make homebrew content at your own table
- Create ministry resources using SRD-based mechanics
You MAY NOT:
- Sell SRD-based content
- Publish altered or derivative versions
- Distribute modified SRDs
- Create new game systems based on them
- Upload SRDs publicly without attribution
- Incorporate SRD text into commercial products
Churches and Christian ministries may publicly host SRDs provided attribution and a link to www.openalmond.com are included.

9. Hall of Faith Hero Deck Licensing
The Hall of Faith Hero Deck is fully proprietary.
You may:
- Use it in church, youth group, or home study
- Share themes in sermons or teachings
- Print replacement cards for personal use
You may not:
- Reproduce the deck
- Post full card text online
- Sell expansions or derivative decks
- Use it for commercial curriculum without permission
10. Covenant Path Devotionals & Studies
All Covenant Path studies, diagrams, and interpretive content are fully copyrighted.
Churches and ministries may use them for teaching, but may not:
- Republish the content
- Create competing devotionals
- Redistribute digital copies
- Remove copyright notices
11. Bible Translation Licensing
- World English Bible (WEB) — Public domain
- King James Version (KJV) — Public domain
- ESV® Bible — Used by specific permission where included in paid products (Copyright notices appear where required)
Other translations are included only when proper permissions have been secured.
Scripture itself is not claimed as proprietary content.
12. Global Restrictions
Across all Open Almond Studios products, the following restrictions apply:
- Platinum Rule Compliance: Content may not be used in ways that intentionally distort, mock, or undermine the theological, narrative, or moral foundations of the work.
- No Implied Endorsement: You may not claim or imply endorsement, sponsorship, or official affiliation with Open Almond Studios.
- No Use of Branding: Open Almond Studios logos, trademarks, trade dress, or distinctive branding elements may not be used without explicit written permission.
- No AI Training or Model Use: Content may not be used to train, fine-tune, or generate outputs from artificial intelligence or machine learning systems.
- No Redistribution: Digital files, PDFs, or other protected materials may not be uploaded, shared, or redistributed through public or private repositories.
- No Removal of Notices: Copyright notices, attribution statements, and legal markings must not be removed or altered.
- No Commercial Exploitation: Derivative works, adaptations, or expansions may not be sold, licensed, or monetized without prior written approval.
