Terms v1.0 · Compatibility Standard v1.0Powered by Integrity (PBI) is the optional, approval-based compatibility and brand layer for qualifying works built on the Integrity Engine. CC BY 4.0 gives you the open rules permission; an approved PBI project receives the official compatibility identity and controlled Creator Kit rights.

Qualification at a glance
PBI is not a vague “uses some 3d8 ideas” label. A qualifying work must preserve the defined engine identity while remaining free to redesign many default modules and design joints.
Separate production asset
The official glyph font has its own asset permission and required credit. It is not part of the IE-SRD CC BY 4.0 grant and it is not included merely because a work qualifies for PBI.
Required 01
Ordinary meaningful uncertainty is primarily 3d8 + one applicable rating against a Target Number.
Required 02
Exactly Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength remain the whole-person attribute structure.
Required 03
Failure, Endured Success, Success, Edge Success, and Critical Success remain the ordinary outcome ladder.
Required 04
Short-term Pressure and a persistent Pillar-tied consequence layer remain meaningful.
Required 05
Player-facing commitments remain part of character identity and something play can place under pressure.
Required 06
A scarce player-agency meta-currency remains above routine in-fiction resources.
Required 07
Three persistent positional axes remain meaningful during Trials, even if renamed.
Required 08
A structured mode remains for sustained consequential resistance beyond ordinary single rolls.
The Integrity Clause
Powered by Integrity is optional, but using the badge means the approved work is represented as meeting both the Compatibility Standard and the Integrity Clause. PBI is a curated Open Almond Studios identity, so qualifying works may explore difficult or mature subjects without using the mark to promote exploitation, hatred, cruelty, or deceptive conduct.
Powered by Integrity badge
The badge variants shown here are raster display previews sourced from private Licensing Assets and served through Open Almond's website for viewing. They are not the production Creator Kit files, and viewing them does not grant permission to use the badge. Approved projects receive authorized production use, the current Creator Kit package, the copy-ready publication notice, and the protected Creator Kit download inside Creator Programs.

What unlocks after approval
Required PBI notice
A PBI publication must identify the independent-publication relationship, Integrity Engine™ trademark ownership, and the permitted PBI badge artwork; when designated IE-SRD Content is reproduced or adapted, the separate CC BY 4.0 attribution also applies. The approved application workspace supplies the current copy-ready PBI notice tied to the program versions accepted for that project.
Common questions
Use only material actually designated under CC BY 4.0, obtain PBI approval before using the compatibility identity or production badge, satisfy the Compatibility Standard and Integrity Clause, use the official Creator Kit files, include the required notices, keep proprietary Open Almond Studios game-line material separate, and clear the third-party rights in your own product.
Production authorization is provided after project approval.
Approval authorizes the submitted project or edition. It does not convert the work into an Open Almond Studios publication or general endorsement.
