Version 1.0 · effective October 13, 2026These Terms govern the optional Powered by Integrity compatibility identity, official badge artwork, Creator Kit assets, and approved Integrity Engine compatibility references. They do not replace or narrow CC BY 4.0 rights in designated IE-SRD Content.
Program Terms & Conditions. These terms govern the optional Powered by Integrity compatibility identity, badge artwork, Creator Kit assets, and approved compatibility claims. They do not replace or limit CC BY 4.0 rights in designated IE-SRD Content.

Section 1
Powered by Integrity (PBI) is an optional compatibility and brand program offered by Open Almond Studios, LLC. It allows qualifying independent works to identify themselves as Powered by Integrity and to use the official PBI branding permissions described here.
PBI is not the copyright license for the Integrity Engine System Reference Document. Material expressly designated as IE-SRD Content is governed by Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Nothing in these Terms adds a restriction to rights a creator independently receives under CC BY 4.0.
Section 2
Use of the Powered by Integrity identity, official badge, Creator Kit assets, or copy-ready PBI publication notices requires a project-specific application and active approval from Open Almond Studios. Approval applies only to the project identified in the approval record and does not create account-wide permission for other products.
You accept these Terms when you submit a PBI application and affirm them through the Creator Programs workflow. Approval remains conditioned on the approved work satisfying the current Compatibility Standard, Integrity Clause, and applicable Creator Kit rules.
Merely reading, copying, adapting, translating, or publishing designated IE-SRD Content under CC BY 4.0 does not require PBI approval and does not by itself constitute acceptance of these Terms.
Open Almond Studios does not charge an application fee, PBI royalty, revenue share, or ordinary PBI sales-reporting fee. That does not eliminate the project-approval requirement for controlled PBI branding and assets.
Section 3
Upon active project approval, and subject to continuing compliance with these Terms, Open Almond Studios grants the applicant a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to use the Powered by Integrity compatibility identity, official PBI badge artwork, supplied Creator Kit assets, and approved compatibility language solely for the approved work and its ordinary marketing, distribution, and promotion.
The permission is project-scoped. Approval for one title, edition, supplement, or product does not automatically authorize another. Materially different new editions or separate products may require their own application or updated approval.
This permission travels only with the approved work. It may continue for a legitimate successor under Section 11, but it may not be sold, sublicensed, transferred, or redistributed as a standalone branding asset or general-purpose license.
No right is granted by implication. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any Open Almond Studios trademark, badge artwork, Creator Kit asset, or other reserved intellectual property.
Section 4
Your work must satisfy the Powered by Integrity Compatibility Standard applicable to the edition or release using PBI branding. The Standard identifies the required Integrity Engine system identity and the design joints creators may change.
A PBI work may contain substantial original rules, settings, terminology, subsystems, and presentation. PBI does not require duplication of an Open Almond Studios game or rulebook; it requires the recognizable system foundation defined by the Standard.
Section 5
For a qualifying PBI work, Open Almond Studios permits accurate, non-misleading textual references to Integrity Engine™ and to the work's Powered by Integrity status. Appropriate examples include “Powered by Integrity,” “Built with the Integrity Engine™,” and “An independent Powered by Integrity game.”
Do not present Integrity Engine™, Powered by Integrity, or an Open Almond Studios mark as your own brand; do not imply that Open Almond Studios published, co-published, sponsored, generally endorsed, guaranteed, or performed rights clearance for the work beyond the limited PBI authorization actually granted; and do not use this permission to claim compatibility with a proprietary Open Almond Studios game line.
Section 6
Use only official Creator Kit assets. Follow the supplied variant, clear-space, minimum-size, contrast, placement, and alteration rules. Do not redraw, trace, distort, recolor, crop, re-typeset, combine the badge into another logo, or make the badge appear to be your publisher identity.
A conventional PBI book, game, supplement, adventure, or comparable publication must display the official Powered by Integrity badge on the front cover. A supporting or reference product where ordinary front-cover placement is genuinely impractical may use a clearly visible alternative placement consistent with the Creator Kit.
Use of the badge is a copyright permission as well as a compatibility presentation permission. The badge artwork remains copyrighted Open Almond Studios artwork.
Section 7
Every approved PBI work must include the current PBI publication notice supplied through the approved project's Creator Programs dashboard or current Creator Kit. That notice identifies the work's independent status, the Integrity Engine™ trademark, and the copyright and permission status of the PBI badge artwork.
If the work also reproduces or adapts designated IE-SRD Content, satisfy the separate CC BY 4.0 attribution and change-notice requirements for that material. IE-SRD attribution remains public because those rights arise independently under CC BY 4.0.
Public IE-SRD attribution · when applicable
This attribution arises from CC BY 4.0, not from PBI. Approved PBI projects receive their separate PBI notice in Creator Programs.
This work is based on the Integrity Engine System Reference Document (IE-SRD) [SRD version], published by Open Almond Studios, LLC; designed and written by Benjamin J. Schmidt, with editing and additional contributors identified in the official IE-SRD credits; and licensed for use under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Source: [official IE-SRD URL]. If applicable: This work contains modified Integrity Engine System Reference Document (IE-SRD) Content.

Section 8
As between you and Open Almond Studios, you retain ownership of your original protectable contributions, including your original setting, characters, artwork, prose, game-specific rules expression, and other original material.
These Terms do not grant the Open Almond Studios logo, OA monogram, game-line logos, proprietary settings, characters, lore, product artwork, trade dress, source files, or other reserved Open Almond Studios intellectual property. The IE Action Symbols font and glyph artwork are governed by their own separate asset permission.
Integrity Engine™ remains a trademark of Open Almond Studios, LLC. Powered by Integrity badge artwork remains copyrighted Open Almond Studios artwork.
Section 9
A PBI work remains independently published unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise. PBI does not make Open Almond Studios your publisher, distributor, partner, agent, employer, rights-clearance service, or guarantor.
You are responsible for rights in third-party material that you add, including artwork, fonts, music, software, trademarks, likenesses, translations, and other content not supplied under an applicable Open Almond Studios permission.
Do not describe a PBI work as official, canon, or endorsed by Open Almond Studios unless a separate written agreement expressly creates that relationship.
Section 10
A work that relies on the optional PBI branding permission must not use that branding for material that includes or promotes pornography or sexually explicit content presented primarily for sexual stimulation; gratuitous sexualized nudity; sexual exploitation or sexualization of minors; advocacy of hatred, dehumanization, or targeted abuse; promotion or glorification of real-world abuse, exploitation, cruelty, trafficking, or comparable serious harm; fraudulent claims that Open Almond Studios published, generally endorsed, or approved the work beyond the limited PBI authorization actually granted; or deliberate misuse of Open Almond Studios branding intended to deceive, exploit, or materially harm others.
Depiction is not the same as endorsement. Difficult, violent, tragic, historical, theological, moral, or mature subject matter is not automatically disqualifying merely because it is depicted. Context, purpose, presentation, and whether the work advocates or exploits prohibited conduct matter.
This section governs the optional PBI branding permission. It does not add a restriction to CC BY 4.0 rights in designated IE-SRD Content.
Section 11
A compliant PBI work may be commercial or noncommercial. Crowdfunding, print-on-demand, direct sales, digital storefronts, retail distribution, conventions, and ordinary publishing channels are permitted without a PBI royalty or revenue share.
You may provide unchanged Creator Kit assets to designers, printers, manufacturers, platform providers, and other service providers only as reasonably necessary to produce, distribute, or promote the qualifying PBI work. Those parties receive no independent right to reuse or redistribute the assets.
If ownership of a qualifying PBI product is legitimately transferred to a successor, the successor may continue the existing product's PBI use if the successor acquires the relevant product rights and agrees to comply with the PBI obligations applicable to that edition. PBI branding rights may not be transferred separately from the qualifying product.
Section 12
For an ordinary, curable violation of these Terms, the Compatibility Standard, or Creator Kit rules, Open Almond Studios will ordinarily provide written notice describing the issue and allow 30 days after effective notice to correct it.
Deliberate fraud, deceptive official-status claims, intentional misuse of the PBI badge or Open Almond Studios marks, or comparable serious misuse may justify immediate suspension or termination of the affected PBI permission without a cure period.
After an ordinary uncured termination, existing physical inventory manufactured before termination may be sold for up to 90 days, but no new PBI-branded copies may be manufactured. This automatic sell-off does not apply to serious intentional misuse unless Open Almond Studios agrees otherwise in writing.
Once PBI permission ends, new digital distribution and new manufacture using PBI branding must stop. A creator may remove PBI branding and continue a work to the extent the creator independently has the necessary rights, including rights under CC BY 4.0. Ending PBI permission does not terminate independent CC BY 4.0 rights in designated IE-SRD Content.
Section 13
Each PBI Terms and Compatibility Standard version identifies its version number and effective date. A product first released in compliance with a published version may continue to identify that edition under that version unless the product itself breaches the version that governs it.
A new edition or materially revised release should follow the then-current PBI Terms and Compatibility Standard. Open Almond Studios may revise the program prospectively, but a later version does not silently rewrite the rules that governed an earlier compliant edition.
Section 14
These Terms do not grant permission to use the Powered by Integrity badge, Creator Kit artwork, or other Open Almond Studios reserved assets as training, fine-tuning, embedding, or dataset material for generative AI or machine-learning systems.
This section does not impose an additional restriction on designated IE-SRD Content licensed under CC BY 4.0. Rights in that material are governed by CC BY 4.0 itself. Nothing here narrows a right you independently receive under that license or under applicable law.
Section 15
PBI is provided as a compatibility and branding program. Open Almond Studios does not promise commercial success, distribution, market acceptance, third-party rights clearance, or fitness for a particular project.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Open Almond Studios is not liable under these Terms for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or business opportunities arising from a creator's use of the PBI program. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Section 16
These Terms, the incorporated Compatibility Standard, and the Creator Kit rules form the public PBI permission for the covered branding. If a specific written agreement with Open Almond Studios expressly overrides part of these Terms for your project, that written agreement controls for that project.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, except where applicable law requires otherwise. If a provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision in one instance does not waive later enforcement.
