This page explains how Open Almond Studios, LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects information through the Open Almond Studios website and related website features.

Privacy questions: privacy@openalmond.com
This policy applies to the Open Almond Studios website, including blog pages, newsletter features, ministry intake submissions, Baruch support chat, account and profile features, and related website tools.
It explains what information the website collects, how that information is used, when it may be shared with service providers, and what choices visitors and subscribers may have.
You may provide information when you:
Depending on the feature, this may include your name, email address, profile image, saved preferences, messages, account identifiers, sign-in method information, and form responses you choose to provide.
When you use the website, we may automatically collect information such as:
Open Almond uses Firebase Authentication to provide account sign-in. If you choose Google, Microsoft, or Facebook, that provider verifies your identity and makes basic account information available to Firebase and Open Almond as needed to establish or link your Open Almond account. Depending on the provider, this may include your email address, display name, profile image, and provider-specific account identifier.
For Google Sign-In, we request only the basic identity information needed for authentication and account features. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or other Google Workspace content, and we do not use Google Sign-In information for advertising. Email-and-password credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication; Open Almond does not store your password in its application databases.
Baruch is an AI-assisted support feature. Messages you send to Baruch are processed through our server-side AI infrastructure and model providers so a response can be generated. The visible chat transcript is not saved to your Open Almond account. The current browser tab may temporarily keep the visible transcript in session storage for up to eight hours so the conversation can follow you around the site, and signed guest/session state is used to maintain the conversation, apply usage limits, and prevent abuse.
If you choose to rate a Baruch response, we may store the rating, an optional reason category, the page and Baruch theme where the rating was submitted, and pseudonymous session/response identifiers. The question and answer text are not included in that feedback record by default.
The site includes admin-only and editor-only content tools. Authorized editors can use an AI-assisted workflow to generate blog summaries and SEO metadata from article content they enter into the editor. That workflow is limited to editorial operations and is not part of normal visitor browsing.
We use information collected through the website to:
We do not sell personal information for monetary payment. Some privacy laws use broader terms such as “sell,” “share,” or “targeted advertising” for certain advertising or data-use activities. Where those laws apply, we provide the choices and disclosures required by them.
We use analytics and performance tooling to understand site traffic, measure feature usage, and improve the website. In the current site setup, that includes Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, and limited site-event measurement tied to actions such as newsletter saves, important link clicks, and privacy-safe Baruch interaction events. Baruch analytics events do not include the text of your question or Baruch's answer.
Depending on region and your choices, Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, and limited site-event measurement stay off until the corresponding Analytics services are allowed. The Spring by Amaze storefront stays blocked until its Functional & Commerce service is allowed. YouTube and X content stay blocked until their individual Embed services are allowed. Google AdSense stays off until its Marketing service is allowed. Ko-fi and GiveSendGo are currently provided as ordinary outbound links rather than embedded widgets, so their provider code is not loaded merely by visiting an Open Almond page.
We share information only where it is needed to operate the website and related services, such as with:
If you follow links out to third-party stores, community platforms, or support platforms, your information will be handled under those third parties' own policies once you leave our site.
Your practical privacy choices include:
Our Account & Data Deletion page explains the self-service account-deletion flow, what it is intended to remove, how to request deletion if you cannot sign in, and how to request deletion or correction of information that is not tied to an account.
We may need to verify that a privacy request relates to you before acting on it, and the availability and scope of a particular right may depend on applicable law. We will request only information reasonably necessary to evaluate and fulfill the request.
Newsletter subscribers can also opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting privacy@openalmond.com.
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operating the website, maintaining records, honoring preferences, addressing support and security issues, preventing fraud or abuse, resolving disputes, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, or other business obligations.
A deletion request does not always require immediate erasure of every copy. Limited information may remain temporarily in backups, security or audit records, transaction records, or other systems where retention is reasonably necessary or legally required. Information retained for those limited purposes is not intended to be returned to ordinary active use and is removed or aged out according to the applicable system or retention process when the reason for retaining it no longer applies.
Data held independently by a third-party storefront, payment provider, community service, identity provider, or other service may be subject to that provider's own deletion and retention rules. Deleting an Open Almond account does not delete an account you maintain directly with another provider.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No website or online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Open Almond website and its online account, newsletter, Baruch, form, and submission features are general-audience services. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through those online services without any parental notice, consent, or authorization required by applicable law.
Open Almond online accounts and account-based features are currently available only to people age 16 or older. We do not currently offer a parent- or guardian-authorized account process for users under 16. A user under 16 should not independently create an Open Almond account or use an online feature that asks the user to provide personal information, including newsletter subscriptions, forms or playtest applications, or Baruch. An adult organizing play, ministry, family activity, purchases, downloads, support, or a playtest for younger participants may use the adult's own contact information instead.
This account rule does not mean our tabletop games and public resources are only for people age 16 or older. Many Open Almond games and materials may be played or used by families, churches, ministries, schools, and other adult-led groups that include children and teenagers. Suitability varies by product, scenario, and family or group, so parents, guardians, ministry leaders, and other responsible adults should decide what is appropriate for the younger participants in their care.
If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 was collected through the website in a manner that requires parental authorization and that authorization was not obtained, or that an account was created by a person under 16 contrary to this policy, we will take reasonable steps to address the information or account, including restriction or deletion where appropriate. A parent or guardian can contact privacy@openalmond.com to request review or deletion.
If Open Almond later introduces an online feature specifically designed for younger users or a verified parent- or guardian-authorized account process, we will update the applicable notices and implement the consent, verification, privacy, and safety measures required for that feature before knowingly collecting covered personal information through it.
The website may link to third-party destinations such as Discord, Google services, Ko-fi, GiveSendGo, and external stores. Where an optional service is embedded on an Open Almond page, such as the Spring by Amaze storefront, YouTube, or X content, it is handled through the applicable privacy choice before the provider content is loaded in regions requiring prior consent.
Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Once you leave our site or interact directly with a third-party service, their practices apply.
We may update this policy from time to time as the website and its services change.
When we do, we will post the updated version here and revise the Last Updated date shown above.
