A Session Might Look Like...
A Harvest. A Threat. A Test of Faithfulness.
Your group is helping a nearby village bring in the harvest when raiders are spotted in the hills. Do you defend the fields, lead a warning to nearby settlements, or seek another solution? Every choice carries risk, cost, and consequences for your character, your community, and your witness.

Character identity in Warriors of the Covenant grows from your place in the community, the capabilities you have developed through service, and Grace that can sustain you when costly faithfulness is on the line.
Callings
A Calling is a path of service and specialized responsibility. It shapes how your Warrior contributes to the covenant community without reducing the character to a combat class.

Disciplines
Disciplines are defined capabilities formed by training, preparation, experience, devotion, equipment, relationships, or practiced responsibility.
A Tier 1 Warrior begins with a Calling Discipline tied to an Archetype and a Universal Discipline, with broader libraries opening as the full game develops.
Grace
Grace is a limited resource for moments when effort, conviction, and providence meet. Warriors begin with 1 Grace and can normally hold up to 3.
Grace can strengthen a roll, rescue a narrow failure, permit renewed effort, or pay a Discipline cost. It never measures God’s approval or purchases divine favor.

Vanguard · Virtuous · Tier 1
An experienced guard who believes force can be necessary without allowing urgency to decide what becomes acceptable. Her strength is disciplined restraint under pressure.
Calling Skill

Conviction
Victory Without Corruption.
Mara will not abandon what is right merely because compromise would make the immediate problem easier. Her Conviction tells the table what costly faithfulness looks like for her.
Calling Discipline
Oath Against Disorder
When deliberate teamwork disrupts Opposition, Mara can turn that opening into an Edge for her next relevant Tactics roll. Once per session, the same moment can also steady her position.
This is how the pieces fit together: the Calling defines Mara's responsibility, Tactics gives her a specialized Method, her Conviction establishes what she refuses to sacrifice, and her Discipline rewards coordinated protection rather than indiscriminate force.
Trials & Opposition
The Battle Is Not Always Against Flesh and Blood.
The world pushes back in different ways. A Trial begins when sustained resistance makes timing, position, and accumulating consequences matter. Sometimes another person stands against the Warriors. Sometimes the danger is a collapsing structure, a sealed path, a frightened crowd, or simply time running out.
Opposition
People or groups pursuing an objective against the Warriors — from armed threats to authorities, rivals, or frightened communities.
Hazards
Active dangers such as collapse, fire, flood, exposure, or another process that keeps getting worse if no one acts.
Obstructions
Sustained resistance that does not fight back: sealed passages, damaged structures, institutions, mechanisms, or other barriers.
Countdowns
Visible pressure moving toward a consequence — help arriving too late, supplies running out, a crowd turning, or danger reaching a breaking point.
